MINUTES OF MEETING
Attending: Linda Banner-Bacin, Lynnette Roth-Buchanan, Gianna Cagliano, Connie Estes, Earl Holst, Dawn-Marie Johnson, Dr. Ken Kerr, Pat Mooney, Paddy Ruzella, Janet Sklar and Kay Abbott.
Newsletter: Gianna offered to continue editing the newsletter for same payment ($100.00 @ month). It was decided she be given a free Society membership for her services. The number of newsletter issues was discussed. It was decided to have 9 issues, with post cards serving those months not issued. Gianna requested articles for submission be received by the 5th of each month. Send to: venturarose@yahoo.com The Subject line should include the month is it for. Vice-President: Lynnette Roth-Buchanan announced that she could no longer serve but would submit articles for the newsletter. Connie Estes offer to fill the position was gratefully accepted.
Meeting location: Discussion & clarification of future meetings ensued; we have use of the current facility until May, then we may move to the new County Schools building on Adolfo Road. Our rent will increase to $144.00 @ month. A committee to continue searching for alternative locations was formed. Dawn-Marie, Pat Moomey and Connie will head the group; Cindy will join them in June.
Budget: Earl gave us an accounting of our finances, offered that we have enough to cover rents and 9 newsletters @ year.
Speakers: May meeting will feature an ARS video presentation of Old Garden Roses. Linda encouraged members to bring their OGRs to the meeting. June speaker, TBA. Tom Carruth of Weeks’ Roses will be our Oct. Speaker.
